About Sixt Poland:

In Poland Sixt has offered top quality services since 2000, when Eurorent Ltd. started operating under the license of Sixt Poland. The offer of the company includes a wide range of cars of diverse class. Availability of cars in different parts of the world gives a feeling of mobility, since they can be rented, for example, in Warsaw’s airport, and returned in Berlin.  Also Sixt Poland has been chosen as the Franchisee of the Year 2008

  • 1912 - Starting with only seven vehicles in downtown Munich Martin Sixt founds Europe's first car rental company, "Sixt Autofahrten", with Mercedes as its flagship.
  • 1927 - Martin Sixt hands over  the reins to his son, Hans Sixt, who in 1943 almost  loses his entire fleet as a result of confiscation.
  • 1945 - With just three cars that he had hidden in a stable, Hans Sixt founds "Auto Sixt".
  • 1969 - Erich Sixt, the current CEO, enters the business, now in its third generation.
  • 1979 - Sixt creates an international limousine network on five continents and in 55 countries.
  • 1980 - Regine Sixt starts signing contracts with major tour operators, airlines, worldwide travel agencies and hotel chains.
  • 1982 - Sixt is the first company to start its own corporate credit card program
  • 1986 - Sixt goes public and is now listed on the German Stock Exchange. Erich Sixt becomes the chairman of the board of Sixt AG.
  • 1994- Sixt becomes the No. 1 among German car rental rental companies. Sixt starts a preferred co-operation with Lufthansa German Airlines and becomes a partner of the Lufthansa Miles&More Program.
  • 1995 - Sixt invents the CarExpress Service by using self-service terminals in all German airports and confirms its position as the leader in innovation in the car rental industry.
  • 1997 - Sixt goes Europe! The Sixt brand enters the markets of Switzerland, Austria, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
  • 1998 - Sixt goes  global and kicks off the Sixt International Franchise System
  • 2000 - Sixt  opened in Poland.
  • 2003 - Sixt enters an affiliation with Payless Car Rental, one of the leaders in the North American car rental industry
  • 2004 - "The Spirit of Mobility" stands for 150,000 cars at over 1,500 locations.
  • 2005 - Opening of Poznan, Wroclaw and Katowice airport branches
  • 2006 - Opening of Krakow airport branch
  • 2007 - Opening of Gdansk airport branch, Start of PAZ programme
  • 2008 - Sixt Poland has been chosen as the Franchisee of the Year 2008
  • 2009 - Sixt rent a car is available in over 95 countries around the globe and 9 sales offices are established across the USA
  • 2010 - Take over of Poznan, Wroclaw and Szczecin branches
  • 2012 - Sixt Poland „Official Service Provider EURO 2012”
